Extraction of 3 Salt Mines
We combine old practices with the latest technology to produce high-quality refined salt. This is achieved by harvesting from sunlit coasts using traditional methods and sophisticated evaporation techniques. Every grain of salt underscores our devotion to excellence and purity.
In addition to the extraction operations, our company will also establish a salt processing plant in the area.
Our Journey
With more than 25 years of trailblazing efforts, the adoption of best-in-class business practices, and the setting of new standards in operational excellence, we have grown into one of Afghanistan’s largest and most respected mining companies.
Our core strengths lie in overburden removal, mineral extraction, and transportation. Driven by a constant pursuit of new challenges, we have expanded into Mine Development & Operations (MDO), further strengthening our portfolio of contracts.
Mining & Extraction
Abu Saeed’s advanced salt harvesters enable salt works operators to efficiently collect salt from the fields and load it directly into trucks for transport to stockpiles or processing facilities. With capacities ranging from 15 to 20 tons per hour, these harvesters deliver high-performance, large-scale salt harvesting
Abu Saeed Across Afghanistan
With five active projects nationwide, we are committed to positioning Afghanistan as a world-class salt producer. Our proven ability to deliver mission-critical operations on time and in a cost-effective manner has consistently generated strong productivity and profitability for our stakeholders.
Commitment to Nature
We integrate our operational goals and performance targets closely with the regulatory obligations outlined in our Environmental Policy. Our daily operations are guided by measurable performance indicators covering energy and water consumption, waste generation and management, air and water quality, noise control, and workplace safety, including first-aid and lost-time incidents.
Salt Mining Process
Water Collection
Seawater or natural brine (from salt lakes like the Great Salt Lake) is channeled into a system of shallow ponds or lagoons.
Crystallization
The concentrated brine moves to separate crystallization ponds. As more water evaporates, the brine becomes saturated
Harvesting
Once a sufficient salt layer (around 4 inches or more) builds up, specialized mechanical harvesters scrape the salt crystals from the pond beds.
